What is the Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre?
The Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre is home for all things comedy in Los Angeles and New York. We offer affordable, high quality shows seven nights a week. All shows are all ages. We also run one of the largest and most respected improv schools in the country.
Who are the Upright Citizens Brigade?
Upright Citizens Brigade is: Matt Besser, Amy Poehler, Ian Roberts and Matt Walsh. The four members produced their own sketch show Upright Citizens Brigade for three seasons on Comedy Central in 1998-2000. During the success of the TV show, UCB opened a comedy theater and improv school in New York City. In 2005, UCB expanded to the west coast and opened a theater and improv school in Los Angeles.

What kind of shows will they be?
UCB Theatre's Fresh Faces, hosted by Paul F. Tompkins will feature stand up, sketch and character comedy from young UCB performers on the rise.
So what exactly is ASSSSCAT? Well, it starts with a group of improv comedians taking the stage accompanied by a special guest monologist. We take a suggestion from the audience, then the show begins. The special guest shares off-the-cuff thoughts, feelings, and personal remembrances inspired by the suggestion. The improvisers in turn use this impromptu monologue as fodder for a series of high octane, balls-to-the-wall improvised sketches that have made this show one of the longest running improv shows in the history of the world.
The Greatest Comedy Show Ever is a variety show featuring characters, stand up, music from UCB performers currently working in film and television.
How do I buy tickets?
Please visit our Buy Tickets page for complete ticketing information. All advance tickets can be bought through Paypal, so you will need a credit card.
Will there be tickets sold at the event?
If the festival doesn't sell out in advance, then tickets will be available at the box office on the show dates, CASH ONLY. Saturday all day passes will not be available at the box office.
What time should I arrive for a show?
Arrive 15 to 30 minutes in advance. Your ticket guarantees that you will get in, but seating is first come, first serve. ALL TICKETS ARE GENERAL ADMISSION. UCB Theatre's Fresh Faces show on Friday night is in a bar, so there is no seating.
What parking is available?
There is street parking available at each venue.
What ages are admitted?
The Fresh Faces show is 21 and over. Both ASSSSCAT and The Greatest Comedy Show Ever are all ages.
Can I photograph / videotape / audiotape the show?
Absolutely NO video or audio recording is permitted. Still photography is allowed without flash.

Do you serve food or alcohol?
Yes, there will be food and alcohol sold at both venues.
Can I bring in my own food and drink?
No.

How long are the shows?
Each show is approximately and hour and a half.
What will the weather be like?
Be prepared for chilly weather. The Solvang Festival Theater is an outdoor amphitheater --dress appropriately.
